With the 2008 league completed the Phoenix Chess Club is happy to announce a new Swiss tournament to be held at the clubs premises over the next 4 Thursdays. Non-club members are also welcome to participate.
The following details apply:
- The tournament will start on Thursday the 7th August and end on Thursday the 28th August 2008.
- The format will be a 45/45 Swiss with 2 rounds per evening except for the the 28th which will only feature 1 round, the 7th and last.
- Entry for paid up club members is free. All other participants can enter by paying an entry fee of R 100-00.
- The currently accepted FIDE rules of 2005 covering over the board play will be applicable for this tournament. A copy of these rules can be found on the FIDE or Chess for All websites.
- Players are required to notate their games and must furnish their own notation material.
- Play will commence promptly at 19h30 each evening.
