Uganda and their visa problems.

So far there seems to be no resolution to this problem. The only 2 players who have made it to Dresden are the Kawuma brothers Steven and Moses who are both based in the United Kingdom. Moses has just become the Hampshire County Chess Champion for 2008 and he took the title from his brother who won it last year. So in fact none of the Uganda based players have made it to Dresden! Nigerian player to be honoured for board prize.

IM Odion Aikhoje, a regular in the Nigerian Olympiad teams, delivered a gold medal performance on board 2 at the Olympiad in Elista in 1998. He had to leave before the prize giving and till today has never received his medal. He is now to receive a special commemorative plaque in honour of his achievement at the Olympiad where he is again appearing for Nigeria on board 2.
